Tokki Tea House

For my capstone exhibition, I created a Korean-inspired cafe called Tokki Tea House (토끼 찻집) that introduces Korean cafe culture to an American audience. The cafe's name is a direct translation of the Korean words for “bunny” and “tea house.” “Tokki” is a romanization of the word for rabbit/bunny in Korean. Tokki Tea House brings a taste of what Korean cafe culture looks and feels like through its atmosphere, brand, and style along with its selection of food and drinks. Tokki Tea House celebrates and shares Korean culture with American customers. Using Adobe Creative Suite, I designed a logo and brand identity, menus, posters, food and drink packaging, uniforms, and a mobile app. I took all of the product photographs used in the menu and promotional materials. 

In our modern globalized world, people can share, experience, and connect with different cultures. As an Asian American, I want to share and celebrate the vibrant unique culture of Korean cafes. Tokki Tea House is the coffee shop I wish was available in North Texas for Asian American and American customers to access and experience. Tokki Tea House is inspired by the calm atmosphere of Korean coffee shops, and is meant to be a place where people can take their time away from the hustle and bustle of our super rushed life. The tagline “Take your time (at Tokki Tea House)” is representative of one of the cafe’s goals: to create a welcoming and relaxed environment.
